Oscar Salinas Flores

Oscar Salinas Flores is a leading figure in industrial design in Mexico, with a career spanning teaching, research, and professional practice. A pioneer in design education at UNAM, where he earned the country's first doctorate in industrial design, he has trained generations of designers and contributed to the advancement of the field through publications, academic consulting, and innovative projects. He has collaborated with companies such as Coca-Cola, BMW, Ford, and Grupo Bimbo, as well as with cultural and academic institutions, leaving a significant mark on the history and theory of design. In 2003, he founded Editorial Designio, one of Mexico’s first publishing houses specializing in design, helping to promote knowledge dissemination in the region. His international leadership has led him to participate in prestigious organizations and committees, solidifying his role as a key advocate for design in Ibero-America.
